Proprioception is your body’s ability to sense where a limb is without looking.  When you incorporate balance exercises into your weekly routine, it will have a positive effect on your day to day activities as well as on athletic performance.  Balance exercises can easily be incorporated into your workout and daily living.  A one leg balance while talking to a friend is an easy way to begin.  Balance exercises are progressive, so if you would like to learn more, please stop in at the Y’s Wellness Center Desk where staff will be happy to help you!  Ask for a “Quickcard” to learn a simple progression of balance exercises.
