YMCA Capital Campaign

Making Miracles Happen

On May 19, 2012, the YMCA at Pabst Farms unveiled its brand new, custom-designed Miracle Field and Baseball Complex, consisting of four additional baseball fields. To date, these fields have impacted hundreds of adults and youth involved in a variety of sports and developmental programs.

Our Miracle Field is one of only four all inclusive ball fields in the state of Wisconsin. Athletes with cognitive and / or physical disabilities joined us to play on our new custom-designed field featuring a cushioned, rubberized, completely flat surface, which helps to erase barriers to recreation and ensure everyone has an opportunity to play.

In our first season of Miracle Field activity, 47 players (ages 6-54) participated in our very own Miracle League, in which they learned fundamental skills needed for the sport of baseball. The league provides a failure-free environment with the philosophy of “Everyone Hits, Everyone Gets on Base and Everyone Scores.” Miracle League attracted 11 new participants - new to our Y and to Special Programs. Our Special Olympics Softball players (15 players, ages 13-32) also had the opportunity to play on Miracle Field, playing competitively against Special Olympics teams throughout the state.
