Youth/Teen Fitness

Home School Phy Ed: (Grades 1-12)
Starts Sept. 1, 2010 (Registration begins Aug. 1)
Join our instructors for an exciting hour of fun, fitness and  skill/motor development. Additional fees may be assessed for off-site class activities. Parents will receive a standards based curriculum packet for the semester at the time of registration. This program will run with the Oconomowoc School calendar.
Grades 1-3:    M/W    1:00-1:55 pm

Youth Boot Camp: (Ages 8-12)
This class offers age appropriate activities to develop cardiovascular and muscular strength in youth. Sports and agility training techniques and cardio activities are matched in Boot Camp-style, offering a safe and fun class!

Teen Free Weight Strength Training:
(Ages 12-15) This class teaches teens how to conduct a safe and purposeful strength training program along with promoting overall fitness by including flexibility, cardio conditioning and core strengthening. Class will be in the Wellness Cnt/Weight Rm area.

Tai Chi & Kung Fu: (Ages 13+)
Be “younger next year” with us! Tai Chi-Kung Fu is a traditional Chinese martial arts exercise program that will help you beat stress, tone up and combat the aging process. Bring a friend!

Youth/Teen Cycling: (Ages 10 & older)
It’s more than just biking...it’s heart pumping music, motivating staff and a great workout on a stationary bike. Maximum of 16.

Youth/Teen Cardio Fitness: (Ages 8-12)
A fun fitness class with easy to follow moves, awesome music and an energizing instructor. Instructor will teach step, kickboxing and a variety of cardio exercises, making the class fun and motivating.

Intro to Yoga: (Ages 13+)
This class is designed to meet the needs of the beginning yoga student. We will learn the basics of breath work and beginning yoga poses while gaining flexibility and strength. We also learn that the practice of yoga is about listening to your body and accepting where we are right now.

NEW!  Teen Performance Training: (Ages 14-18)
Studies have shown one of the best ways to improve overall sports performance is through core conditioning. This class is designed both for teens who are involved in sports as well as those who are up for a new challenge in fitness. These interval-style workouts will incorporate drills promoting core, strength, agility and balance. Class will be taught by a personal trainer with experience motivating and training teens.

Fit Kids, Fit Families: (Ages 6 & up)
Fit Kids, Fit Families is a partnership with Aurora Health Care and the YMCA at Pabst Farms. This is a 10-week healthy lifestyle program for families with goals to improve eating habits, enhance self-esteem, increase activity level and create life-long healthy habits. The program is led by registered nurses, dieticians and exercise coaches. In addition, a pediatrician, family practitioner and nurse practitioner provide council.
