Our Y is a proud sponsor of Special Olympics softball, volleyball, flag football, bocce, bowling, team basketball, swimming and track & field. All new Special Olympics participants must have a medical form completed prior to the start of the program.  Click here to download these forms.

 

SPECIAL OLYMPICS SWIM TEAM PRACTICE:

(Ages 8 & up)
Do you love the sound of water splashing through your arms? Let us help you
learn or fine-tune specific techniques and strokes to get ready for Special Olympics
competition. Swimmers must be able to swim 1 length (25M) unassisted in the
competitive pool.

SPRING    WEDNESDAY 7:00-8:00 pm
$64 Y Member • $79 CP

SUMMER    WEDNESDAY 7:00-8:00 pm
$80 Y Member • $95 CP (no July 3rd)

SPRING ONLY
Monday (optional) 7:00-8:00 pm
Only for those swimmers working on advanced stroke development, not for those swimming less than 50M.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS TRACK & FIELD:

(Ages 8 & up) 
Running, walking, throwing, jumping...there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Athletes will fine-tune their skills to compete in Special Olympics, WI. We practice outside; please dress accordingly. Location: Oconomowoc High School track

MARCH 18 - JUNE 3, 2019

SPECIAL OLYMPICS BOCCE BALL:

(Ages 8 & up) 

Bocce is a team sport of skill and strategy. Whether played for SO-WI competition
or as a fun backyard game, we will enjoy a friendly battle to see who can get their
pallino the closest. Practices begin May 13. Practice/game schedule will be handed
out the first day of practice.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS SOFTBALL:

Hit, run and slide into base. Join us as we develop our play for Special Olympics
competition. Practices begin May 13. Practice/game schedule will be handed out
the first day of practice.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS FLAG FOOTBALL:

(Ages 8 & up) 

Learn the skills and rules for this new SO-WI sport. Be prepared to play outdoors.
No previous experience needed. Practices begin August 12. Practice and game
schedules will be handed out the first day of practice.

We will maintain a 4:1 (participant:staff) ratio for all programs. If your participant requires less than a 4:1 ratio, accommodations must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the program. We cannot accommodate all 1:1 requests so please request early! Please contact Jodi Dabrowski for any other accommodations necessary for participation.

All Special Programs participants are required to have a Participant Care Form
on file prior to participation. The form is available online or at Member Services.
