Babysitting Courses

YMCA BABYSITTING TRAINING:

Boys & Girls Welcome! (Must be at least 11 years of age by the first class and attend the entire two-day course.) Includes topics such as basic care, home and play safety, preventing accidents, emergency situations and practicing lots of scenarios. Basic first aid and CPR skills will be reviewed, however, these certifications will not be given. Babysitters will take home a binder full of great babysitting information. Participation in a two-hour, hands-on training in our drop-off childcare will allow future babysitters time to practice their skills.

     Class Dates & Times:
     (Must attend both dates when offered over two-day period):

     • Apr. 25, 5 - 8 pm AND Apr. 26, 5 - 9 pm
     • May 9, 5 - 8 pm AND May 10, 5 - 9 pm
     • June 7, 5-8 pm AND June 8, 2-6 pm
     • July 19, 5-8 pm AND July 20, 2-6 pm
     • August 8, 5-8 pm AND August 9, 5-9 pm
     • August 24, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm (All day - bring a lunch)

     Fees: $47 Y Mbr / $59 Comm Part

HOME ALONE WORKSHOP:

(Ages 8-10) Class provides youth and parents the tools necessary for youth to start staying home alone. Skills developed will include phone safety, emergency response, what to do when the doorbell rings and where to go for help. Parents are required to participate in the last half hour of class.

     Class Dates & Times:
