Teen Camp & Teen Leadership Program



Our summer camp teen leadership program is a progressive program that provides a great leadership and mentoring experience. The program includes lunch and field trips on various days. A limited number of spots are available for each position. Applications are available online on January 1st, 2019.

A volunteer/shadowing experience for teens with one year of camp or equivalent leadership experience who are ready to build leadership and mentoring skills. Participants will receive CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention Training as well as leadership, team building, and child development training.

  • No Fee: Volunteer Position
  • Commitment: 
    - Mandatory training on select dates 
  • Monday Night Staff Meeting
    - 6:30-8:00 pm at Lake Country School
    - Transportation for CITs will be provided for meeting from Meadowview to Lake Country Camp
    - 9 weeks, 4 days per week
  • Mondays: 8:45 am-6:30 pm
  • Tuesday-Friday: 8:45 am-4:00 pm (day off will either be Tuesday or Thursday)
  • Prerequisite:  
    - Mandatory CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention and Shaken Baby Syndrome      training  (provided if you do not already have it)   

JUNIOR COUNSELOR STAFF: Entering Grades 11-12
An experience for teens who have shown extraordinary initiative and commitment to working with youth, peers and others. They have demonstrated strong leadership skills at camp, the Y, school, and in their community.

  • Commitment:
    - Mandatory training on select dates
    - 11 weeks, 4 days per week; hours vary 6:30 am - 6:00 pm (Mondays required.)
    - Approximately 30 hours per week paid position
           • Weekly schedule set with Summer Camp Supervisory team
           • Vacation days must be approved prior to camp
  • Prerequisite: Must be entering grades 11-12
    - Mandatory CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention and Shaken Baby Syndrome training (provided if you do not already have it)
    - Complete application with the Y. In application provide experience listing extracurricular accomplishments and community 
    - Experience as a Counselor in Training (CIT) or other Youth Program equivalent experience (preferred)
