Youth / Teen Fitness



(Ages 12-15)
We’ll combine speed/agility cardio options with strength training. The class is designed to help young people at the beginner level to develop speed and strength skills, as well as cardio fitness.

Tuesday/Thursday, 4:15-5:15 pm

June 12 - August 16, 2017
(Ages 10-17) 

A new program designed to prepare youth for distance running. Participants will learn the specifics of running and racing longer distances, while training for several road and trail races throughout the summer. Emphasis will be on teamwork, efficiency, proper form, mental and physical stamina and race strategy. The team will be coached by USATF/RRCA certified running coach Lisa Turner. TRI 4 SCHOOLS: Exercise to achievement: 

(Ages 4-14) 

Does your child like to swim, bike, or run? Want to make new friends and try
the challenge of completing a triathlon? Then join us this summer for Exercise to Achievement, a program designed to help your child to complete a triathlon in
8 weeks! Your child will not only improve their physical and emotional health, but learn about nutrition and healthy life skills. Athletes will conclude this program by competing in the Tri-ing for Children’s Youth Triathlon on July 29, 2017.

Starting June 5th - July 29th 
Monday/Wednesday 4:30-6:00 pm

All classes are coached by YMCA staff.

7-12 yr old:
 May use track, with parent/guardian.

10-12 yr old: Welcome to use select cardio equipment with an adult next to them after signing the Wellness Center Policy Agreement. Check in/out is required at the Wellness Center Desk. Take free Group Exercise classes with a parent. Cycling classes not included.

13-15 yr old: Allowed to use the Wellness Center alone after orientation and PAR-Q is filled out and signed by a parent. Can also use Free Weight area after an additional free weight training orientation. Group exercise classes also available to this age group.

16+ year old: Access to the entire Wellness Center.
